One of the products that I was lucky enough to get in the Violet Voxbox from Influenster was the Montagne Jeunesse Red Clay Spa. I was reluctant to try it mostly because I’m super busy but also because my 5 yr old son kept telling me how the masked looked creepy on the face of the model. I finally decided to try it anyways.
The mask is made of a soft cloth dipped in Mediterranean red clay, pulped pomegranate, and a hint of cinnamon. I immediately noticed the slightly sweet smell and felt the coolness of the mask against my hands. Applying it was odd at first. It took me two tries to find the correct holes (the hint is that there is a nose flap that covers the top of your nose. Had I known that before, applying it correctly would have been easier) but once I did I placed the mask on my face. It was uncomfortably cold at first but once my face acclimated to the temperature, the coolness actually felt nice. Since I live in Miami, it’s 80 degrees outside today even though it’s December. The coolness was a welcomed treat.
I let it sit for 15 minutes, the maximum amount of time suggested on the packet. If I had been able to take a short cat nap, that would have been the opportune time. Once the time was up, I removed the mask and rinsed my face. The first thing I noticed was how smooth my face had become and then how soft it was. I did need to moisturize a bit once my face had dried because the masked sucked a bit of that moisture out but that’s to be expected with any facial spa masks.
Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone. It only takes a few minutes out of your day and from what I can tell, the price point is only a couple of dollars in most drugstores. I got this one free but I wouldn’t mind purchasing a few more for a weekly facial treatment.
